Project: Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day

Happy National Nutrition Month!

Each year we celebrate National Nutrition Month in March and this year the theme is: Eat right, your way, every day.

National Nutrition Month 2013

March is a month to focus on our eating habits. What can we do to improve them or get them back on track? This is different for everyone.

Food preferences, lifestyles, cultural and ethnic traditions, and health concerns all impact individual food choices – which is why we can’t all eat the same way.

What it means to me

I eat out a LOT – so for me, eat right, your way, every day means that I have to focus on ordering dishes that contain more of the foods I need (more veggies and fruits), without giving me too much of what I don’t need (saturated fats, sodium, calories). I also have to focus on making sure my portions are appropriate and that I stop eating when I am full. Of course it’s also important that my food is tasty!

For the past couple of months, I have focused on one food for the entire month but this month, I’m going to switch it up a bit and just share some ideas about how you can eat right, your way, every day. Hopefully you’ll be able to incorporate some of them into you days this month!

I’ll be back with some fun stuff on Thursday, but until then, check out some of these other 2013 National Nutrition Month Bloggers.

What makes it a challenge to eat right, your way, every day?
